Welcome to The Nest, a unique glass holiday home where design, comfort, and nature come together.
Nestled along a quiet sandy lane in the forest, just a stone’s throw from the village of Gorssel, you can enjoy complete peace, privacy, and immersion in nature. At the same time, the charming Hanseatic cities of Deventer and Zutphen are only a ten-minute drive away. This makes The Nest the perfect base for hiking, cycling, cultural excursions, and culinary discoveries throughout the region.
The Nest is a glass greenhouse featuring a large custom-built wooden structure measuring 3 by 8 meters at its center. In, on, and around this structure, you will find a kitchen, bedroom, bunk beds, dressing area, shower, bathroom, and a conversation pit with a hidden TV lift. In front of the structure stands a beautiful quartzite dining table and two large leather armchairs positioned in front of a wood-burning stove.
Thanks to the floor-to-ceiling glass walls, you can enjoy uninterrupted views of the surrounding forest from every corner of the house. From the master bedroom, you look out over the treetops, while downstairs you are completely surrounded by the tranquility and beauty of nature.
Outside, The Nest offers two spacious terraces. One terrace features a private hot tub, a comfortable lounge sofa with outdoor fire place, and a sauna. The other terrace includes a large outdoor dining table.

The house is entirely made of glass. The upstairs bed is surrounded by a curtain for privacy, although it is light-filtering rather than blackout. The bunk bed downstairs is fitted with a blackout curtain.
The shower is open but completely private to the outside, with views of the rhododendrons.
Due to grid congestion the house is not connected to the electricity network. Instead, the property is powered by a battery storage system, which is recharged at night by a biogas-powered generator when necessary.
Rates, Availability & Booking
During low season, the rental rate is €225 per night based on 2 guests. During high season, the rate is €290 per night based on 2 guests.
An additional charge of €30 per person per night applies for the 3rd and 4th guest.
Minimum stay is 3 nights on weekends (Friday to Monday) and 4 nights on weekdays (Monday to Friday).
During the summer holidays (Friday to Friday) and the Christmas period (Monday to Monday) the minimum stay is one week .

Final cleaning is mandatory and costs €100.
Tourist tax is €2 per person per night.
Babies up to 1 year old stay free of charge. Please bring your own baby cot.
Your stay includes bath towels, bed linen, kitchen linen, unlimited firewood, Smit & Dorlas coffee capsules, Clipper tea, luxury soap by Ajen, and basic essentials such as salt, pepper, olive oil, and more.
